First things first: you need to choose the right size for the terra cotta pot.
Start measuring the diameter of the upper part of the [plastic] plant pot.
Add at least 2 to 3 centimeters to find the right terra cotta pot. 
Your plastic pot will fit perfectly in it!

Then you choose the perfect saucer for your terra cotta pot, simply by using this size table ;-)
